I say this all the time! I totally agree but, raise your price slowly every six months if you are pricing to low.

I support SOPA and PIPA. There needs to be more regulation of the internet. I want to go back to word of mouth and face to face marketing. With all the tools of big companies like Yelp consumers can go online and write whatever they choose about businesses even if they have never used the service before, and there is nothing the business can do to have their false statements removed. My studio served over 1237 satisfied customers by the close of 2011, but one person we have never done business with was allowed to post a fake negative complaint about us on Yelp and we have been loosing thousands of dollars in business and spending even more man hours (costing us more money) to try and combat what was posted.

SEO is not cheap and takes WAAAAY more than just an investment of time. So you paint a picture of false hope when you say "simply an investment of time (occasionally a little money) and a whole lot of magic to create a business beyond your wildest dreams" <---- so far from reality.

Bluelou - Just keep at it. If you really love it, you'll find a way to fit it into your life. There are many ways to get involved. We hired an assistant as a junior in high school, and she worked with us through college in the summers. She's married and does other things now, but she loved her time in photography. Look around - you may be able to do things now.

I've been using Pancake App for my invoicing. Similar to Freshbooks but a 1 time fee as the app is self-hosted. Those interested, it's $49 - http://scottwyden.com/recommends/pancakeapp

I'm happy to discuss the ease of use with anyone. Or visit their site and join the pre-sales forum.
